10. Halo 2 (2004)

  The first Halo was the kind that changed the face of gaming forever, naturally, the anticipations were high for Halo 2 and it did fulfill those anticipations. Halo 2 sold the record-breaking 1.5 million copies through pre-order alone, so it was good to start even before the actual release of the game.

Halo 2 was dropped on November 9, 2004, and it lures media attention and it sold 2.4 million copies in the first 24 hours. It would go on to sell more than 8 million copies.

Like Halo 2 GTA has a pretty good legacy and it was the first game on the next generation hardware complete with realistic graphics and a detailed world the like which had not been seen before and to say it performed well would be an understatement. With on 24-hour game sold 3.5 million copies generating 310 million dollars within 1 week, GTA 4 has made 500 million dollars till 2017.

First pokemon game was released in Japan 1996 and in North America in September 1998 and in 2013 15 years after their North America release the series was still going strong and breaking records around 1 million and quarter units were pre-ordered in Japan most for a 3d’s game in Japan history. Destiny is an Online only multiplayer first-person Shooter Video game developed by Bungie and published by Activision. It was released Worldwide on September 9, 2014. According to Activision Destiny has shipped 500 million dollar worth of games in just 24 hours, saying it was the most successful game.

2. Call of Duty Modern Warfare3 (2011)

Within 24 hours of its release game sold 6.5 million copies in North America and Europe roughly equating to 400 million dollars in revenue. Modern warfare is known for its action and the 3^rd part in the series was no exception with graphics like never seen before and gameplay which is enjoyed by everyone. It goes on selling 775 million in 5 days of its release.
